What your day to day life will look like...

The Telecommunications Department is responsible for the group’s internal and external data, voice and multimedia communications network. It manages a network with more than 5,000 points across the country, 100 large buildings, and three major data centres in Barcelona and Madrid. Additionally, it handles connections to various cloud service providers (Google, Azure, IBM, Oracle, etc.).

We have opportunities in different areas of communications:

Communications in branches

  • Define and design the evolution of branch communications networks.
  • Create procedures for service monitoring.
  • Interact with manufacturers to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Network services
  • Design network services architecture (Load balancing, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
  • Management and monitoring procedures.
  • Relationship with manufacturers for continuous improvement.
  • Data Centre Communications
  • Design the architecture of the data centre for its evolution.
  • Create monitoring procedures.
  • Interact with manufacturers to ensure improvements.
  • Cloud Communications
  • Establish the evolution of the Multi-Cloud connection model.
  • Governance of the network and security architecture intra/inter Cloud.
  • Design resilience in Cloud communication services.
  • Voice communications
  • Define the operational model of the different telephony systems.
  • Creation of monitoring procedures.
  • Quality Engineer
  • Track the service provided to branches.
  • Incident analysis and service quality improvement.
  • Creation of management and monitoring procedures.

Key skills and requirements:

  • Degree in Telecommunications Engineering.
  • Knowledge of networking, particularly WAN and SDWAN.
  • Proactive in leading projects.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and improve the environment.
  • Intermediate to high level of English.
  • Experience with layer 7 protocols (HTTPS, SSL, TLS).
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools (Ansible, Terraform) and Python programming desirable.

Experience with these technologies a plus:

  • Communications in branches: Fortinet SDWAN, Cisco Meraki, Aruba.
  • Network services: A10 SLB, Infoblox, CDNs, load balancing in microservices architectures.
  • Data Centre Communications: Cisco ACI, Palo Alto, Fortinet.
  • Communications in the cloud: Google Cloud, Azure, IBM Cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Voice communications: Cisco Call Manager, Alcatel Rainbow, Genesys, Astra.
